Former light heavyweight title holder Ronald “The American Dream” Johnson ( WBC USNBC) makes his long awaited ring return on August 15th at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut on the televised portion of the Knockout finale featuring ring legend Roy Jones Jr.

Ronald Johnson (11-1) is known both for fighting and promoting big boxing events that featured Zab Judah, Joel Casamayor, Michael Grant, Hector Camacho Jr. and many other notable names in the sport. After a five-year hiatus from the ring he is back and focused on boxing.

The Las Vegas, Nevada resident will campaign in the cruiserweight division and look to work his way towards a title shot. Steven Marcano who is the Executive Producer of the boxing reality show Knockout said, “Ronnie is my little brother. My partners and I gave Ron his first contract 11 years ago. We really believed in Ron and offered him a deal worth over $200,000 when he was just getting into the professional ranks. He was only 19 years old at the time. Ron told me that he’s ready to resume his career and I’m here to help him get back where he needs to be and this is the start.”

Knockout season 2 is slated to premiere in July and air weekly through August 15th when the show culminates with it’s second live fight card. The fight card will be headlined by Roy Jones Jr. and also feature bouts by Johnson and the reality show’s winners. The show will air live on NUVOtv/Fuse and take place from the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
