Hitz Boxing continues to be the busiest promoter in the Midwest with its latest edition of Fight Night at the Horseshoe, featuring ten action-packed bouts at the Horseshoe Hammond tomorrow night. Boxing veteran and Illinois Hall of Fame Boxing Promoter Bobby Hitz treats fight fans to a main event fight featuring highly acclaimed prospect Ed Brown (17-0, 15KO) in a six-round grudge match versus Gilbert Venegas, who is coming off a six round unanimous decision win over Antoine Ellerson earlier this month. The tall and rangy Brown, who is co-managed by Cameron Dunkin and Chicago’s Mike Cericola, is a highly-touted and very busy fighter, fighting ten times over the last twelve months.
In the co-main event, Chicago cruiserweight Shawndell Winters (7-0, 6KO) faces Ghanan Maxwell Amponsah (11-1, 10KO). Winters is facing his toughest competition yet in stepping up to face Amponsah, who comes to the ring having knocked out his last opponent, Steven Abbey in the third round late last year.
“King” David Estrada (27-6, 17KO) continues his comeback run with a six round bout versus Kansas City’s Antony Nelson.
Local attraction Jose Arambula faces Missouri veteran Kelly Wright, and Jaime Herrera faces the tough and tested Thomas Allen. Female fighter Sarah French makes her debut in a very tough fight with New York’s Bertha Aracil, and Jaime Herrera, Raphael Murphy, Kenneth Thomas, Jr., and Martez McGregor round out the card in separate bouts.
Hitz Boxing will honor the “Men & Women in Blue” by granting a free ticket to attendees that show their badges at the box office. “It’s our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who are protecting our community,” said promoter Bobby Hitz.
