Chicago’s junior welterweight prospect Antonio Canas (4-0 3KO’s) who is better known as the “Aztec God Of War” has quickly built a large fan based not only from boxing fans but also MMA fans as well.
No stranger to combat sports Canas has competed in martial arts tournaments through out the world gaining much valuable experience. Along the way Canas fought for the professional fight organization “King Of The Cage” along with a few others. Canas, who is known for his all out style of action, would be always remembered for his bout against MMA title contender Jared “The Spider” McMahan. That match helped solidify his place in MMA, showcasing not only his skills but also his heart and determination.
Now focused on professional boxing Canas is determined to keep his fans and friends pleased with his performance inside the squared circle. “I am not only a fighter, I am also a die hard fan to this sport. I want to leave everything in the ring and I strive to please the fans of this sport” said Canas.
Trained by “Fearless” Fernando Hernandez and managed by Wasfi Tolaymat one can only imagine where the young talented fighter would be in a few years. Would he be back in the world of MMA? Stay competing in boxing or stay active in both sports? One thing for sure is that Canas has a tough test ahead on July 15th 2011. The undefeated junior welterweight is facing another undefeated fighter in the Detroit, Michigan native “Lighting” Larry Ventis (4-0 3KO’s).
The 25 year old Ventis is looking to come back after a 2 ½ year absence from the ring. Ventis, who is known for his quick hands is looking to stay undefeated and stay active, the fighter has a fight scheduled one month after his proposed fight with Canas. One would have to question whether if Ventis is taking the Canas fight lightly or simply looking to stay busy? One thing that is evident is that this is the toughest fight for both of these young lions.
