London (8 November) The legendary boxing analyst Al Bernstein is expecting ‘Dangerous’ Dyah Davis to give his best “effort” in his fight with James DeGale MBE on November 16th at Glow, Bluewater.

Hall of Fame Bernstein feels that at the ripe age of 32, this could be tough American Davis’ “last chance” at fighting a major super middleweight contender when he competes for the WBC Silver title live on Channel 5 from 10pm and that ads a “sense of urgency” to the fight.

“Dyah Davis is a very good ring technician who likes to control the tempo of a fight,” Bernstein said.

“At age 32 there is a sense of urgency for Dyah in this fight – This may be his last chance at a fight with a major 168 pound contender and that too suggests that his effort in this fight will be the best he can mount.

“Davis has great genes, as the son of Howard Davis Jr, who won a gold medal in the 1976 Olympics and also had an excellent professional career.

“Howard has also worked with his son as a pro to pass along his ring knowledge.

“He has good hand speed, an excellent uppercut and is also capable of throwing good combinations, but does not always do that. His main issue is that sometimes he is much too economical with his punching.”

Former NABF champion Davis is set to meet the 2008 Olympic gold medalist and former British and European champion, DeGale.

A man fondly known as ‘Chunky’ who is ready to send a statement to the division and prove he is injury free and prepared to take on anyone.

Their fight tops the bill at Glow and is to be shown live on Channel 5 from 10pm, the night also features an all-star line up.
