Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, presents a pair of stacked live events this Saturday, May 3, beginning at 4 p.m. ET with Cage Warriors 68 from Liverpool, England, followed by GLORY 16 Denver at 9 p.m. ET.
Headlining Cage Warriors 68 from Liverpool’s Echo Arena, Danny Roberts (10-1) meets Jim Wallhead (25-8) in welterweight action, plus Ronnie Mann (23-6-1) takes on Marcelo Costa (8-2-1) in a bantamweight clash.
Other featured bouts include welterweights Mauro Chimento (15-10) vs. Matt Inman (13-5), middleweights Steve Dinsdale (6-1) vs. Matt Hallam (4-2), middleweights Leeroy Barnes (12-13) vs. Che Mills (15-7) and bantamweights John Cullen (17-8-2) vs. Dean Garrett (5-0).
Meanwhile, GLORY 16 Denver will emanate from 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado at 9 p.m. ET, headlined by a welterweight world championship title fight pitting No. 1-ranked Nieky Holzken (84-11, 44 KOs) of the Netherlands against Belgium’s Marc de Bonte (86-11-1, 28 KOs), currently ranked No. 5.
Originally scheduled for GLORY 15 Istanbul, the matchup between power puncher Errol “The Bonecrusher” Zimmerman (101-11-1, 42 KOs) and knockout artist Ben Edwards (36-9-3, 32 KOs) now serves as one half of the heavyweight contender tournament. On the other side of the tourney bracket, heavy handed Russian Sergei Kharitonov (5-3, 3 KOs) meets Brazil’s Anderson “Braddock” Silva (37-10-1, 24 KOs). The contender tournament winner earns a spot in GLORY’s heavyweight world championship tournament later this year.
Making his GLORY debut in the contender tournament reserve bout, recently signed UFC veteran Pat “HD” Barry (15-5-1, 9 KOs) take son fellow newcomer Zack Mwekassa (10-1, 9 KOs).
Immediately following Fight Network’s live presentation of GLORY 16 Denver, catch an encore of Friday’s live broadcast of ONE Fighting Championship 15: Rise of Heroes from Manila, Philippines at 11 p.m. ET, topped by a bantamweight championship showdown between Bibiano Fernandes and Masakatsu Ueda.
