ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA (September 11, 2014) — Red-hot MMA fighters Ivan “Buki” Buchinger (27-4-0, 6 KO/TKO, 16 SUB) and Tural Ragimov (9-1-0, 4 KO/TKO, 4 SUB) will fight October 17 for the coveted M-1 Challenge featherweight title, recently vacated by Marat Gafurov, in M-1 Challenge 52: Battle of Narts, airing live on www.M1Global.TV from Summer Amphitheatre Magas in Ingushetia, Russia.

Buchinger and Ragimov are unbeaten since joining M-1 Global, both winning a pair of matches.

“Marat Gafurov has moved on from M-1 Global and we wish him success in his future career,” M-1 Global CEO/Founder Vadim Finkelchtein said. “Our featherweight division is loaded with bright, young talent. Buchinger and Ragimov have proven themselves and they were chosen as the top contenders to fight for the vacant title. It should be a great fight.”

Styles make fights and Buchinger, a technician from Slovakia, faces Azerbaijan striker Ragimov in a classic match-up of fighters with contrasting strengths.

Buchinger has won his last six fights, including the last two against Mikhail Malyutin (SUB1 – rear naked choke) and Sergei Golyaev (DEC3), respectively, this past August in M-1 Challenge 50 and in M-1 Challenge 47 last April.

Ragimov is riding a five-fight win streak, including the last two versus and Lee Morrison (SUB1 – arm-bar) and Aliyar Sarkerov (TKO2 – punches), respectively, this past June in M-1 Challenge 49 and last March in M-1 Challenge 46.

Additional fights will soon be announced. All fights and fighters are subject to change.
