biggest name of his boxing career as he meets former world title challenger Darnell “The Ding-a-Ling Man” Wilson (25-21-3, 21 KOs).

Barboza returns to Cape Cod after headlining two shows right there in his backyard in 2015, scoring a pair of first round knockouts over Jesse Oltmanns and Francisco Mireles. He has indicated that the bout will be his last ever on Cape Cod.

“I’m excited and thrilled to give my all for my hometown one last time before I hang them up,” said Barboza.

Darnell Wilson is an accomplished boxer. Known for his concussive knockout power, he made a big splash on the boxing world in 2007 with a win over former world title challenger Dale Brown, a KO win over former world champion Kelvin Davis and a crushing KO of top 10 contender Emmanuel Nwodo that was voted “Knockout of the Year” by ESPN and Ring Magazine amongst others.

In 2008, he would lose a 12-round decision against Firat Arslan in a bid for the WBA Cruiserweight World Championship. Afterwards, he would move up to heavyweight earning noteworthy victories over former world champion Juan Carlos Gomez and the previously unbeaten David Rodriguez, who was 36-0, with 34 KOs entering their fight.

“I’ve had some ups and downs as a professional boxer but I look at this as a great opportunity for me and Jesse.” Wilson said, “He’s in his physical prime and I want to use this to gauge some things about myself. Can I get myself back into contention to fight for major titles? If I can, I need to beat Barboza. I know he’s not afraid to test himself looking at who he has fought recently and I’m not afraid either. Let’s do this.”
