German promoter Sauerland Events has inked a new television deal with ProSiebenSat1, according to Dan Rafael of espn.com.
“We have been working hard in developing new talents in German boxing,” Team Sauerland managing director Freddy Ness said. “This year we saw [former] amateur world champion Jack Culcay win the WBA [junior middleweight] championship. This weekend, 24-year-old Tyron Zeuge challenges for the WBA super middleweight world championship. Next year this deal will give the youngsters a massive platform and keep the momentum going in the search for the new stars whilst also giving a chance for [former light heavyweight titleholder] Juergen Braehmer and [former super middleweight titleholder] Arthur Abraham to win back their world titles in 2017.”
