Chris Weidman thrilled his hometown fans as he made Kelvin Gastelum tap from a choke in round three of their scheduled five round middleweight bout at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New Yor.
Weidman controlled most of the action save for getting drilled with a shot at the end of round one. Weidman dominated with seven takedowns and got Gastelum on the ground, and made him tap from a choke at 3:45.

Darren Elkins won a split decision over Dennis Bermudez in a featherweight bout.
Elkins was cut under his left eye but was able to win on two cards by 29-28 scores. Bermudez won a card 29-28.

Patrick Cummins won a split decision over Gian Villante in a light heavyweight bout
Cummins was cut in round one from a headbutt that drew blood from his forehead on the left side. Cummins bled badly around both eyes as the fight progressed, but he landed the harder blows and took two cards by 29-28 tallies, while Villante took a card 29-28.
Cummins, 205.5 lbs of Boca Raton, FL is 10-4. Villante, 206 lbs of Bellmore, NY is 15-9.
In a battle of top-ten rated bantamweights, Jimmie Rivera took a unanimous decision over Thomas Almeida.
Rivera dropped Almeida twice in round one, and cut him on the nose and around the left eye.
Rivera, 136 lbs of Ramsey, NJ won by scores of 29-28, 30-26 and 30-27 and is now 21-1. Almeida, 135 lbs of Sai Paulo, BRA is 22-2.
Zaleski Dos Santos won a bloody split decision over Lyman Good in a welterweight bout.
Dos Santos took two cards 30-27, while Good took a card 29-28.

Eryk Anders remained perfect as he stopped veteran Rafael Natal in the 1st round of their middleweight bout.
Anders landed a perfect kick to the face, and followed that up with two crushing left hands that put Natal down and out at 2:54.

Alex Oliveira scored a sensation one-punch knockout over Ryan LaFlare in the 2nd round of their welterweight bout.
Oliverira landed a perfect right hand as LaFlare ran in and the punch caught him flush on the jaw and he sprawled down face first and the bout was stopped at 1:50.
Oliveira of Tres Rio, BRA is nnow 18-3-1. LaFalre, 171 lbs of Farmingdale, NY is 13-2.
Chase Sherman won a unanimous decision over Damian Grabowski in heavyweight bout.
In round three, Grabowski was cut under his left eye.
