Naoya Inoue obliterated Jamie McDonnell to win the WBA Bantamweight title at Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Inoue dropped McDonnell in the opening frame with a body shot. Seconds later, Inoue landed a furious combination that sent McDonnell oto the canvas, and the bout was stopped at 1:50.
Inoue of Japan won a title in his 3rd division, and is now 16-0 with 14 knockouts. McDonnell of Great Briton is 29-3-1.
Ken Shiro defended the WBA Light Flyweight title with a 2nd round stoppage over Ganigan Lopez.
Shiro landed a perfect right to the body that folded up Lopez to the canvas. He could not beat the ten-count.
Shiro is 13-0 with seven knockouts. Lopez is 34-8.
